Around 2002 I was doing a lot of caravanning with my wife Pam and our dog Sooty. As we all know, not all caravan parks accept pets, so I looked for a list of pet friendly caravan parks.

I found lots of lists but no list had all the pet friendly parks listed. The reason for this is the list producers wanted to make money from the list so only parks that paid were listed. So I compiled my own consolidated list from every source I could find. This resulted in a list with not all, but most of the pet friendly parks.

I thought that other people maybe interested in this list so, computers being my hobby, I built the web site k9.bounceme.net. This site showed my list. I received enough feedback to know it was being used, but I had no idea how many people were using the site.

After a few years of adding and updating the list, I decided to expand the concept of a complete list, so embarked on listing ALL caravan parks in one listing. So was born the site AustralianCaravanParkList.bounceme.net. Again I had no idea how many people were using this information.

A further couple of years of updating went by. These sites were made up of over 1000 pages each so the updating took some considerable time. During this period my knowledge of the Internet increased so that I could now build a site that had active pages and the ability to know how many were viewing my information.

So was created GaryStratton.com. The two above sites were combined to this single site. I was amazed at the number of people using the site.

Greatly encouraged by the usage, I embarked on a major upgrade of my data to include the geographic coordinates of parks so I could plot them on maps.

That is how the current site came into existence.

When using the information please keep in mind, while I have tried to have all information correct, I am human and I do make mistakes plus from time to time information about a park can change. So if you find any info about a park is wrong I would love for you to let me know about the error so I can correct my data.
